‘Let it be’ – Live in Columbus by Jacob Collier | music

As one magazine recently put it, “your favourite musician’s favourite musician”. We have our Mozart in the 21st century. It’s good to know that our times give us as much as they take away from us. In any case, the technology that I so often oppose, in this case, delivers (as my husband says).

I have several concerts in my memory that made a remarkable impression on me. Classical music definitely wins this ranking, followed by Camerata Silesia from a few years ago. But Jacob Collier’s last concert in Warsaw is definitely in the lead. The experience of listening and actually actively participating in the concert was unique. Collier creates a choir of his listeners, as if aware that there are practically only musicians among them. Being part of such a choir (even at a concert in Poland, which in my opinion is not one of the most musical nations) was really wonderful.

Collier released a two-disc album of piano ballads from the tour. He has a habit of improvising a piece at every concert. On the Broken Record podcast [listen here], Collier said that during a concert, he starts improvising on the piano without realizing where it will lead him. I believe in his musicality. With him, you will always hit a good musical spot.
