Rammstein concert at Chorzów Silesian Stadium | music

I didn’t think much about what to write. It’s Wednesday, and I was at the concert on Monday. A unique return to Switzerland helped me to find space to experience this event (return by train with a four-hour stopover in Vienna). This is in the absolute top 3 artistic events of my life. Somewhere next to The Witcher from the Musical Theater in Gdynia and L’Arpeggiatta from the Pomeranian Philharmonic. Seriously. I can’t think of Rammstein as a purely musical event. After all, without the earplugs, I wouldn’t be able to stand a two-hour concert!

It started with a very strange support. Abelard – a piano duo playing Rammstein covers. Two girls with a distinctly classic background. They had great arrangements and played amazingly. But at the stadium, they were lost and unable to create the right mood. Besides, 40 minutes with only piano sound, it’s only for trained ears! In a club, in a small concert hall, I would listen very willingly.

The place on the stadium pitch gave and took away equally much. My 164 cm definitely did not allow me to see everything in 100%. My husband lifted me up from time to time so I could see better what was going on! But this is probably the only downside of experiencing the concert on the stadium pitch. The weight of the sound is such that I would probably have a similar reception in the stands. Leg pain is included in the sacrifice for a good cause.

The entire spectacle was prepared down to the smallest detail. Lights minimalist white, sometimes only changing colour to green or red. They only use screens for close-ups from the stage. In addition, confetti and a real, huge fire (sic!) from the stage and two points on the stadium’s pitch. From the fire of heat – no wonder Lindemann’s make-up lasted only the first few tracks. But his image evolved along with the concert – that’s how I see it. The tension was created perfectly, you can’t fault anything. They even used a micro stage among the audience, where the support was performing. I was afraid of the space of sound, not without reason. I don’t know if I would be able to stand the whole concert without earplugs. The volume was average from my perspective (mainly bass, bass, bass, drums and vocals), but I heard that it sounded good from the stands. This was the stadium, so the mass of sound was not surprising. I definitely won’t blame anyone for the sound system, for me the performance was sensational. From the first to the last second.

Till Lindemann is as good a singer as I hoped. I’m glad. Rammstein’s music is really very interesting. Uncompromising in the lyrics, melodic in the instrumental layer and diverse in its style.

I recommend Rammstein concerts.

Oh how much I recommend.
