Another collage from the “Stories about femininity” series. Using my photographs and an excerpt from a Polish book about raising young ladies from 1913. The translation of the text used is: “when you go out of town with your parents or friends to a meadow, park or forest, ask if you are allowed to run”.
How is it that we, women, have to ask for everything? To this day, I still feel this obligation in myself. It is ingrained in me very, very deeply. How many times do I feel like collapsing to the ground in shame, or apologising for being alive at all.
It’s a difficult woman’s life.
I hope that one day I will find the peace within myself that I so desperately need for a happy life.
The collage, like all the others in the series, is available for sale. If you are interested just contact me: CONTACT.
