about not fitting in and about editing my photos too much [sic!] | analog photography

Quite funny. I had a post prepared for today with the information that it would be possible to book a photo shoot or reportage in Switzerland through the mywed.com portal.

The plan has to change.

It turns out that I manipulate my photographs too much! The system recognised my portfolio as a collection of collages, which were in fact double exposures. What an absurdity that my 100% analogue photography was recognised as too digital.

I have been struggling with being ‘in-between’ categories for a long time. Because I photograph commercial stuff, the kind that is ‘for the people’ at the same time I do it in a slightly more artistic way. It’s hard to categorise me. Normally I’m happy with that, but it makes my job very difficult in terms of marketing. It’s difficult to advertise myself as an artistic photographer for everyone. And how much artistry is involved if photographing weddings? In my opinion, a lot. But even though I’ve been living in art since forever I’m not trully into it.

So today I don’t invite you to visit my profile on mywed.com.

Maybe in the future.
