Recently, I have overturned my thinking about art, and as a result I have begun to create works to be as environmentally friendly as possible. I create using my old photographs, by scanning them, and printing on recycled paper. I glue the collages together in a way that leaves as little waste as possible. My art books are made from recycled paper, sheet music, newspapers, cardboard.
These are crazy, unpredictable works, but I admit that I feel best in those. I have always been close to abstraction, to “strange images”, to what is surprising. I love the mistakes in analog photography, I celebrate them, I put them to use.
And so it was that I returned to collages. With a bang.
While maintaining an organic creative process, which has been my inner goal for years.
All the photographs in this collage are from Poland. They represent the places of my upbringing, until I entered adulthood. An important time, a good place to start life. I am incredibly proud to be Polish. Although Poland is not the most developed country and politically confusing like no other in the world. I am proud to come from a country where so many outstanding people of culture were born.
