The series explores the dual meaning of the word nature: the natural world around us and the inner nature of human beings—their passions, desires, fears, and emotions. We cannot exist without either of them. When we lose touch with our own nature or with the environment that sustains us, we become disconnected from an essential part of ourselves.

The images were created using a twin-lens reflex camera and shot on black-and-white 6×6 cm film. The silver gelatin prints (25×25 cm) were hand-printed in the darkroom on baryta paper (30×40 cm).
