Italy | analog photography

Little half-frame fun.

I was in Italy a few weeks ago. I took Chaika with me.

Today a full gallery of all the photos from that weekend. All the photos I took. I’m not hiding anything.
(One photo was taken by my husband. And I am on it.)

Grain. It definitely dominates. It is much bigger than usual. I like the graininess of exposing only half a frame of negative, but here it is too much for me. Exceptionally, I developed in a different developer. Apparently also based on Rodinal, but still it’s not what I’m used to. I need to bring a developer from Poland. I can’t get one here.

Definitely.

Chaika 3, Fomapan 200, Rodinal.

  1. beautiful scenes taken on half frames. The grain is high but it feels great on these vertical images. Very authentic even though I always prefer Fomapan 100 or 400 after my very bad experience with 200. And Rodinal is the great companion for this emulsion.

    1. Thank you Victor. I always develop with Rodinal, but I had to buy it from a different producer this time. I am not happy with the result. But I use it do dye prints, so there will be no waste 😉 I use a lot of Fomapan 100 too, but for medium-format only. The Fomapan 100 is actually good quality negative.

      1. Yes i love to use the combination of Fomapan 100 or 400 with my Holga and Rodinal 1:100. We don’t have many choices of the chemicals in the local stores. So i don’t know exactly the manufactors brand. Seems like not an original one. .
